Brian Duffey

On August 12, 2020, the Council lost one of its most esteemed and invaluable members, Brian K. Duffey, Esq.

Brian was a past President of the Council and served as a member of the Board of Directors for many years.  He was a friend to so many of us and he represented our Council and the legal community with pride and enthusiam.

As the owner of The Duffey Law Firm, he carried forward a family tradition of providing invaluable legal services to the Boca community dating back to 1973, when Brian's father, the late Honorable Paul K. Duffey first established the firm.  Brian was the definition of a legal advocate who truly cared about the needs of his clients and collegues and consummately represented the legal profession with ethics and integrity.

To say that Brian was merely a great attorney would be a great injustice to his legacy because he will be remembered by us for so much more than that.  He was an incredible leader and mentor who devoted his time to helping others and to furthering causes for which he cared deeply.  Above all, he was a family man, role model, and adventurer who led a deeply rich and purposeful life.

As a lifelong competitor, you could always find Brian on the rowinhg machine or partaking in events like the Dolphins Cancer Challenge, a 52 mile bike ride to benefit the Sylvester Cancer Center.  True to his northeastern roots, he was an avid Red Sox fan and was happiest spending summers in the Cape with his family and friends.

In addition to Brian's service on the Council, he served on the Board of Directors of the George Snow Scholarship Fund, a charitable organization which he cherished.  In Brian's memory, the Council will be organizing a group of members who would like to participate in the Dolphins Cancer Challenge in 2021 (date to be scheduled).
